A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to nonexistent email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an outdated address or has made a typo. The disadvantage of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam emails, but this problem can be resolved by using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also essential to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming emails to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

Creating a catch-all email mailbox will be rather easy in case you have a shared website hosting plan with our company. You can activate this option through our advanced, albeit easy-to-work-with Email Manager, which is built into the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the shared hosting account itself. You will find all the mailboxes that you’ve set up enumerated alphabetically and next to each one there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously reveal to you whether a certain mailbox receives all the messages for a certain domain name or not. With one click on the icon you can enable or disable this option whenever you like. In case there is enabled email forwarding or if some other mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a particular domain, you will receive a notification from our system. The latter will not deactivate/replace anything automatically and without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be activated easily if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have created with the domains hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be enumerated in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll notice a small sign handily located directly next to each of them. With just a mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this feature using the menu that will show up. In case any of the conditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will warn you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
